A movie screening of Joseph Smith: Plates of Gold will be held Saturday, August 27th at 8pm at Neighborhood Theatre located in Charlotte's NoDa neighborhood. With historical accuracy and attention to period detail, the film tells the story of Joseph Smith, founder of LDS, and how he received a prophetic calling to translate ancient scriptures that would later become The Book of Mormon. Set in early 19th century New York, the film portrays the events leading up to the founding of a new worldwide church (which today has over 14 million followers), details of Smith's personal life and his desire to find salvation, forgiveness and acceptance from God. Joseph Smith: Plates of Gold, is film director Christian Vuissa's fourth feature length film and shows more evidence of the flourishing LDS film scene. This is a seated event and seating is first come, first served. Doors open at 6pm, show starts at 7pm. This is a family friendly event.
